Selvaje! Retreat

November 2–10, 2025

WHAT IS THIS EXPERIENCE ABOUT?

The Selvaje! retreat isn’t about going wild…

Selvaje! is an invitation to journey inward.

Through the practice of Yoga, you’ll move through the Full Vinyasa, returning to your most simple and pure self.

Who is it for?

This retreat is for anyone arriving with an open heart, lightness, and curiosity.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner from other methods or lineages of Yoga.

Rhythm and Schedule

Our mornings will be dedicated to the practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, guided by us — three experienced teachers trained by @John Scott Yoga.

We’ll hold the group with care, offering support and adjustments whenever needed and welcomed.

In the afternoons, we’ll explore complementary practices such as somatic movement, sound meditation, mantras, and technical aspects of Ashtanga, based on what arises in the morning sessions.

There will also be free time to enjoy Piracanga, take part in retreat activities, get a massage, or simply relax by the beach.

What You Can Expect

We’ll integrate movement, dance, sound, and singing to support a deep inner dive and the release of stored tension.

Whether you’re responding to an inner calling or seeking balance, the path unfolds through clear intention and a conscious attitude beyond the ego.

You’ll feel the invitation to bring this renewed SENSE into your mat—and experience your practice in a whole new way.

About the Facilitators

Retiro Selvaje Yoga

Julia Grant-Scott is a sound and embodiment artist rooted in the vast lands of Central Asia.
Born in Kazakhstan, she often recalls that “the lotus grows from the mud” — a reflection of her own journey through deep challenges that became fertile ground for transformation.

Her path weaves together dance, breath, and sound—practices that have deepened her presence and connection to life. Today, Julia offers sound journeys that are not about performance, but about prayer—sacred spaces for reconnecting with the higher self and the divine.

She’s affectionately known as Brahmama, a name inspired by the Indian concept Nāda Brahma — “Sound is God, and God is Sound.” A name that holds both reverence and playfulness, much like her work.

Julia shares her experiences with those who are ready to listen—not just with their ears, but with their whole being.

Jenny worked as a journalist for nearly two decades, covering complex situations of physical and emotional trauma, both individual and collective. Fifteen years ago, she found in Yoga a true gateway to her own healing.

She realized that there is nothing more beautiful than sharing what she’s learned and guiding others to listen to their inner teacher—the one who holds all the answers.

For Jenny, the path of self-knowledge and spirituality is a clear compass for living well and finding happiness.

She has taught in countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United States, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Brazil, and her home country, Colombia, where she founded Moksha Medellín, a school dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga.

For the past six years, she has been traveling through India, deepening her studies not only in the Ashtanga lineage, but also in Yoga Philosophy, Buddhist Psychology, Meditation, and Pranayama.

Masy, a name originating from Madagascar, means “sacred.” Born into a binational family, she has always seen herself as a citizen of the world. In her early twenties, she spent five years backpacking across the globe, meeting children and sharing cultures through art.

A lover of simplicity, Masy brings both strength and softness to her practice, embodying the sacred feminine. Her movements are rooted in the subtlety of her origins and flow through her entire body. Her focus is on breath, feeling, and diving deep into the body—a path beyond the thinking mind.

Encouraged by her teachers, she guides her students to reclaim the autonomy of their own practice through self-inquiry.

She teaches with both respect and firmness, observing carefully and offering a gentle, grounding touch.

An ecologist at heart, Masy strives to live with Earth-consciousness in every action. She’s excited to hold space for this group alongside her sisters Jenny and Julia, in this pioneering eco-village—a place to explore new ways of living in harmony with the Earth.

beach, river, and forest

Unah is located on a paradise beach in the Maraú Peninsula, Bahia.

Right in front of the Piracanga River—clean, swimmable, and perfect for refreshing dips.

We’re surrounded by mangroves and forest, in an environment where Nature constantly invites us to slow down and relax.

Our respect for Nature goes far beyond theory. Here, sustainability is a lived practice, embedded in our daily lives.

Agreements and Care

It’s essential that you follow our community agreements:

– Only 100% biodegradable products are allowed: this is crucial to keep our water source clean. You’ll find several options available in our local shops.
– No mind-altering substances: the use of alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, or other substances is not permitted within Piracanga.
– Waste management: all waste must be cleaned, separated, and taken to the recycling center.

Unah does not follow any specific religion.

We believe there are many paths to reach the same destination. In other words, not all spiritual journeys are tied to religion.

We seek spiritual reconnection through individual exploration—and especially through reconnection with Nature.

After all, we are Nature, and reconnecting with it is also a way of reconnecting with ourselves.

The accommodation and meals fee is paid directly to Unah and can be split into up to 10 interest-free installments.

The retreat fee is paid directly to the retreat organizers, and payment conditions may vary.

Getting to Unah is quite easy 😊

1. Fly to Ilhéus: It’s the closest airport and receives daily flights from major cities across Brazil.

2. Direct transport from the airport to Unah: The trip takes about 2 hours, and we offer this service with trusted local drivers.

To make it even easier, we’ve prepared a quick guide with tips: Learn more here

All of our accommodations include: bed linens, bath towel, mosquito net, and hot water.

Here are the different categories available:

Private Suite with Exclusive Conventional Bathroom: Ideal for those seeking more comfort and privacy, with a private bathroom just like the one you have at home.
Private Cabin with Shared Dry Toilet: A great option for those who want privacy while staying close to Nature. The ecological dry toilets are located just a few meters from the cabins.
Bed in a Triple Suite: In this option, you reserve a single bed and share the suite with two other people of the same gender. The suite includes a private conventional bathroom for the three of you.
Bed in a Dormitory: Our most affordable option. You book a single bed in a shared room that accommodates up to 8 people. Beds are not bunk beds; the room is spacious and well-ventilated. Showers and toilets are available both inside and just outside the dorm.

It’s delicious—and one of the highlights of this experience!

100% plant-based, you’ll eat incredibly well and, even better: in a healthier way!

There are many misconceptions around plant-based diets. People often think their bodies won’t adapt or that they won’t get enough protein. None of that is true—when meals are thoughtfully planned and balanced. And that’s exactly what we do here.

Inside Piracanga, we follow a no-smoking agreement. However, you’re welcome to step just outside the area and smoke tobacco in the nearby coconut grove.

That said, we strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to stop smoking—at least during the retreat. Dozens of participants have quit entirely after experiences like this. You’ll find that here, the process feels much more natural and supported.

No. This is a community agreement in Piracanga—both the consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages are not allowed.

You’ll be surprised to find that alcohol isn’t missed at all here. In fact, the atmosphere becomes lighter, more inclusive, and even more fun without it.

Yes! Since we’re immersed in Nature, wildlife is part of our daily life. It’s common to see lizards, monkeys, crabs, small insects, and other creatures around.

It’s important to remember that this ecosystem is also their home, and the animals you’ll encounter here are harmless. In fact, they’re usually much more afraid of us than we are of them (and honestly, who can blame them?).

Of course, we’ll be here to support you in any way we can to help you feel comfortable throughout your experience.
