Community

Community Agreements in Piracanga

To live in harmony with Nature at Piracanga Ecovillage, we follow some simple agreements that are part of our sustainable way of life:

🌿 We use only biodegradable products

Conventional hygiene products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste) contain chemicals that pollute the groundwater.

That’s why you will receive a 100% biodegradable kit upon arrival, and you can also purchase other items at the Plante! lab, which produces excellent local and ecological products.

🌿 Alcohol- and tobacco-free space

Alcohol is neither sold nor consumed in Piracanga.
Smoking is only permitted on the beach or at the coconut grove next to the ecovillage.

🌿 Conscious waste management

Trash must be clean, dry, separated, and taken to selective collection.
Organic waste is composted, helping to regenerate the soil.

🌿 Living with wildlife

Pets are not allowed. Here live monkeys, armadillos, lizards, and hundreds of bird species, and it is essential to preserve this free and diverse ecosystem.

🌿 Dry eco-toilets

Some bathrooms near the mangrove use a dry toilet system without water, which generates natural fertilizer for the soil. Other rooms have conventional bathrooms.

🌿 Solar energy

Our energy comes from the sun. Some high-consumption equipment (hair dryers, straighteners, irons, CPAP machines, heaters) cannot be used.
We also ask that you charge your electronic devices during the day, making the most of the sun’s abundance.
