Mara Sousa
Host of the Unah Retreat and facilitator of the Flow Like the Waters experience. She has guided hundreds of people on journeys of reconnection, presence and authenticity, encouraging freedom, self-expression and deep listening.
Fred Behrends
Education coordinator of the Unah Retreat and a member of the band Axé Mantras. As director of Escola Almar, a leading school in innovative, social and emotional education, he leads the Transformative Education experience. His work brings together music, education, ecology and self-discovery.
Rapha Simões
Host of the Unah Retreat, yoga teacher and a member of the band Axé Mantras. She leads yoga, Thai massage, sound healing and Maha Lilah. A Nonviolent Communication facilitator, she guides healing journeys with warmth, spirituality and presence.
Ana Valério
Actress and performing arts researcher. She leads the Clown Workshop, where laughter becomes a tool for self-discovery and courage. Her work invites spontaneity and genuine joy, showing how art can transform everyday life.
Juliana Faber
Founder of Plante! and Instituto Somos Água. An activist and educator dedicated to protecting water and raising ecological awareness, she leads the Waters experience, awakening purpose, sensitivity and action in defense of life.
Batista Banaju
Indigenous Pataxó and guardian of the mangroves and sea turtles of Piracanga. Founder of the Tartaru project, known for its work in environmental conservation and ancestral knowledge, he leads the Medicinal Mud Bath, a healing ritual that shares the strength, spirituality and wisdom of Brazil's Indigenous peoples.
Dani Bruce
Yoga teacher for over 20 years, trained in Hatha, Vinyasa and Lu Jong, with studies in India. Also an Ayurvedic and bodywork therapist, she leads sunrise Surya Namaskar and meditation sessions, inspiring vitality, surrender and spiritual connection.

The Unah Carnival Retreat is a spiritual retreat with no religious affiliation.
We believe there are many paths to the same place, and not every spiritual path is tied to a religion.
At the Carnival Retreat, we seek spiritual reconnection through personal exploration and, above all, through reconnecting with Nature.
After all, we are Nature, and reconnecting with it means reconnecting with ourselves.
Is the program in English?
Yes. An English translator is included for international guests, so you can follow every activity.

The group is diverse, but most guests are women between 25 and 45 who come on their own. Still, the experience is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, race, social background or belief.

Here you are welcome as you are, in a safe space to connect with yourself and with others.
Is smoking allowed?
🚭 Inside Piracanga, we have a ecovillage agreement not to smoke.
If you need to, you can step outside the ecovillage and smoke tobacco in the coconut grove next door.
Still, we strongly encourage you to use the Carnival Retreat as a chance to cut down or even quit smoking. Dozens of guests have quit cigarettes completely after this experience.
Here you will find a supportive environment of wellbeing and renewal that can make this process much lighter and more natural.
Is alcohol allowed?
🚫 No. In the Piracanga ecovillage, we have a ecovillage agreement that does not allow drinking or selling alcohol.
Many guests arrive thinking they will miss it, but soon realize that the atmosphere here is much lighter, more inclusive and more fun without alcohol. Connection happens naturally, and the experience becomes even more authentic and transformative.
What is the cancellation policy?
After your payment, these are the deadlines:
✅ WITHIN 7 DAYS: get a 100% refund by cancelling your booking AT NO COST.
✅ AFTER 7 DAYS: payments are non refundable, and you can request changes or cancellations:

Up to 30 days before check-in: 100% of the amount paid as credit (valid for 12 months from the purchase date)
Less than 30 days before check-in: the amount is non refundable and is not kept as credit.

What is the minimum age?
The minimum age is 16, and minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
