At Unah, your only fixed commitment is the oca, our practice space. Your participants book and pay for their own accommodation and meals through a private link for your retreat.

Unah sits inside the Piracanga Ecovillage, a community with over 20 years of history on the Maraú Peninsula, in Bahia, Brazil. Atlantic Forest, river, beach and mangrove surround the practice spaces. Far from big cities, with no alcohol and a vegan kitchen, your group slows down before the first session.

Fly into Ilhéus (IOS), which has daily flights from São Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Salvador, so international travelers connect through one of these cities. Unah is about 2 hours from Ilhéus. We run shared and private transfers from Ilhéus and Itacaré, so your group arrives together. We don’t recommend renting a car: the last stretch of road calls for local drivers who know it well.

Unah is a retreat center for inner work with no religious affiliation, open to facilitators from different paths. Our ocas were designed for yoga, meditation and personal growth practices. Every proposal starts with a conversation with our curation team, to make sure your retreat and the space are a good fit.

Life in the ecovillage: good to know
100% vegan food
No meat, fish, eggs or dairy. Meals are served at Karuh, where everyone washes their own dishes.
100% solar power, off the grid
Hair dryers, straighteners, CPAP machines and other heating devices cannot be used. Short power cuts may happen at night.
No lights on the trails at night
A phone flashlight is usually enough.
Composting toilets
In shared areas and in some cabins near the mangrove.

Do I need to guarantee a minimum number of guests?
No. You only pay for the oca days. Each participant books their own room.
How do participants book?
Through a private link for your retreat, straight into the Unah booking system, where they see room options and rates.
What is the minimum stay?
4 days of oca.
Is the oca fee refundable?
No. Paying the oca days confirms your booking and is not refundable.
How large can my group be?
Up to 79 guests staying on site, in six room categories, private and shared.
What is included with the oca?
Sound system, microphone, projector, floor mattresses, cushions, meditation chairs, chairs, lighting, curtains, altar items, cleaning and team support. Yoga mats are not included.
Does Unah help promote my retreat?
Yes. Your retreat gets a page on our website, a spot on our calendar and our Instagram, with a Reel on our profile. We publish within 30 days of receiving your texts and photos, always as organic posts.
Do my participants need a visa?
Travelers from the United States, Canada and Australia need a visa for Brazil, available online as an eVisa. Ask each participant to check the official requirements for their nationality before booking flights.
Which currency do participants pay in?
Rates are set in Brazilian reais and converted to US dollars on the day of payment. Participants can pay by international credit card (via Stripe), Wise or PayPal.
Can I add Unah activities to my program?
Yes, with Unah facilitators, on request and subject to availability.
How do participants get there?
By flying into Ilhéus (IOS), with Unah transfers from Ilhéus or Itacaré.
What kinds of retreats do you host?

Is there anything else we contribute?
We ask every retreat to offer one scholarship spot to a Unah team member. It strengthens the local community and gives you an extra pair of hands during the retreat.
Is it safe?
Unah is inside a small ecovillage on a peninsula, far from large cities. Transfers are run by local drivers who have worked with us for years.
Does the team speak English?
Yes. Our guest services team speaks English and supports you and your participants from the first contact.
Someone in my group uses a CPAP machine. Is that possible?
Our energy is 100% solar and off the grid, so CPAP machines cannot be used. Please talk to our team before booking.
